August 24th, 2009. Best day of my life?... perhaps. Dad and I spent the day exploring Nova Scotia. Am I in a postcard?
We woke up at 7 and drove to a tiny fishing village called Peggy's Cove. Wandering cliffs above the ocean- my mind feels as though it's been emptied and filled with fresh air. I hope this feeling never goes away. After some exploring, Dad and I discovered a food truck of lobster rolls and fried fish. Sitting at a picnic table enjoying the freshest lobster (poor guy was probably alive an hour ago) on a hoagie, I feel spoiled. I wonder what is going to happen to me the next four months. I'm sailing around the world. Me- Lauren Fern Watt, a Tennessee girl is going to see the WORLD! Oh, what a thrill this is.
Today, I saw the M.V Explorer for the first time. She's beautiful. And as I sat staring at her listening to (like the child I am) Hercules "I can go the distance," I have finally realized all of this is happening. I board the ship in 2 hours. I can't wait. I have so many emotions I don't know what I am feeling. All is know is one thing- this will be the adventure of a lifetime.
